About Serving Carmel

Carmel is in Putnam County, a short drive from our Putnam Valley base. It's really two places. The hamlet around Lake Gleneida, with Seminary Hill and Fair Street, has older homes on established lots and inground pools that have been there for decades. Lake Carmel, up Route 52, is a lake community with smaller lots and plenty of above-ground pools.

Gipsy Trail, Drewville, and the roads off Croton Falls Road sit in between, with newer and larger homes and the heaters, salt systems, and safety covers that go with them. The older inground pools along the Route 52 and Route 6 corridors are mostly vinyl, so liners, pumps, and filters come due. Lake Carmel's tree cover brings pollen in spring and leaves at closing. Mahopac is technically part of the Town of Carmel but has its own page.

Our Work in Carmel

Year-round

Pool Care Through the Carmel Seasons

Spring

Pool opening in Carmel starts mid-April around Lake Gleneida and the hamlet, with Lake Carmel and the higher lots off Route 52 a week behind. Spring openings include an equipment check, which is when a winter-cracked fitting or a tired pump gets caught.

Summer

Weekly pool service in Carmel keeps the Route 52 corridor pools clear through July. Lake Carmel's tree cover and summer storms make algae control a weekly job, not a monthly one, and weekly testing is how we stay ahead of it.

Fall

Pool closing in Carmel runs late September through October. The wooded lots at Gipsy Trail and around Lake Carmel get closed after the leaf drop with a final deep clean and the cover set tight; winterization gets every line blown out.

Winter

Off-season is for safety cover repairs, pump replacements before spring, and liner quotes for the hamlet's older inground pools so the work is scheduled before opening day.

Mid-April around the hamlet and Lake Gleneida, a week or so later for the higher lots off Route 52 and at Gipsy Trail. Book in March for your pick of dates.
