The town
About Serving Fishkill
Fishkill is the first Dutchess County town up Route 9 from Putnam, a short drive from our base past Cold Spring into Dutchess Junction and the village. The village has older lots around Main Street with above-ground pools and established inground pools. Off Route 9 and Route 52 toward Brinckerhoff, Rombout, and the Merritt Boulevard area, the neighborhoods are newer, with larger inground pools, heaters, and safety covers.
Glenham and Baxtertown sit along Fishkill Creek on wooded lots, so leaves pile up at closing time. Dutchess Junction toward the Beacon line is the hilly part of town, and Van Wyck Lake and the Sharpe Reservation area on the east side are the quiet end of the route. I-84 runs right through the middle of Fishkill.
