The town

About Serving Putnam Valley

Putnam Valley is where we're based, so a liner leak on Lake Peekskill or a pump that won't prime on Canopus Hollow is a short drive. The town is wooded lots, lake communities, and hills, with Fahnestock State Park up north.

Most of the pools sit on the lake lots around Oscawana Lake, Lake Peekskill, Roaring Brook Lake, and Barger Pond: above-ground pools and small inground pools in yards full of trees. The streets off Peekskill Hollow Road, Oscawana Lake Road, and Bryant Pond Road, and the corners at Adams Corners, Oregon Corners, and Tompkins Corners, mix year-round and seasonal homes, so some owners want openings and closings timed to their calendar and others want a weekly visit on a set day. All that tree cover puts pollen on the water in May and leaves on the cover at closing.

Year-round

Pool Care Through the Putnam Valley Seasons

Spring

Pool opening in Putnam Valley runs from mid-April, with the lakeside pools on Oscawana and Lake Peekskill first and the higher lots toward Fahnestock a week later. Pollen season here is real; expect a second skim and a filter clean after opening.

Summer

Weekly pool service in Putnam Valley keeps up with the thunderstorms that come over the Taconic and drop leaves and silt into every pool on the east side of town. Vacation-home owners on Lake Peekskill get a weekly check even when they're away, with a note left each visit.

Fall

Pool closing in Putnam Valley is leaf-heavy. We schedule most closings for mid-October after the main drop, do a final deep clean, blow out every line, and set the cover with a leaf net on the wooded lots near Roaring Brook and Fahnestock.

Winter

Off-season is for safety cover work, pump and heater upgrades, and liner planning so the pool is ready at the first warm weekend. Being local, we can look at a winter problem the same week.
