The town

About Serving Somers

Somers is in Westchester County, a short drive from our Putnam Valley base, and it's two kinds of town. The lake communities at Shenorock, Lincolndale, and Lake Purdys have smaller lots, modest inground and above-ground pools, and year-round owners who want a weekly visit on a set day. The properties along Route 100, Route 202, and Route 118 are larger, and so are the pools: custom inground with heaters, salt systems, automation, and safety covers.

Granite Springs and Amawalk sit near the Amawalk Reservoir, under the tree cover that comes with watershed land, so expect pollen at opening and a heavy leaf drop at closing. Purdys and Goldens Bridge on the east side are the far edge of the Somers run, and the Elephant Hotel at the center of town is the landmark.

Our Work in Somers

Year-round

Pool Care Through the Somers Seasons

Spring

Pool opening in Somers starts mid-April at Lincolndale and Shenorock, with the larger Route 100 properties and their heaters and salt systems started up right behind. Equipment inspection at Granite Springs openings is where winter damage gets found.

Summer

Weekly pool service in Somers keeps the lake-community pools clear, and algae control at Purdys and Shenorock is a weekly job after July storms. The estate pools along Route 100 get their salt systems and heaters checked on every visit.

Fall

Pool closing in Somers runs late September through October, with the Amawalk and Granite Springs lots closed after the leaf drop off the reservoir land. Covers go on tight before the Muscoot leaf season finishes.

Winter

Off-season is for safety cover repairs on the Route 100 properties, liner replacement planning at Lincolndale and Shenorock, and pump upgrades so the pool is ready for opening day.
