The town
Yorktown is the first Westchester County town over the line from us, a short drive down the Taconic or Route 202. The subdivisions in Yorktown Heights, Jefferson Valley, Shrub Oak, and Mohegan Lake are full of inground pools from the 1960s through the 1980s, and pools that age need liners, pumps, and filters as they wear out.
Mohegan Lake, Lake Osceola, and Sparkle Lake have smaller lots with more above-ground pools. Kitchawan and Hunterbrook toward the reservoir have larger properties with heaters, salt systems, and safety covers. Route 202, Route 6, and the Taconic carry the route, with FDR State Park as the landmark most people use. The tree cover is heavy toward the reservoirs, so openings come with pollen and closings come with leaves, same as our home county.

Recent jobs
In Yorktown our work is mostly weekly service and liner replacement on the subdivision pools in Yorktown Heights and Jefferson Valley, above-ground openings and closings around Mohegan Lake and Shrub Oak, equipment repair across town, and safety cover installs on the larger Kitchawan lots. The gallery shows recent openings and cover work.

Year-round
Pool opening in Yorktown Heights starts mid-April, Jefferson Valley and the hamlet first, Shrub Oak and Mohegan Lake right behind. Every opening gets an equipment check, which is when winter damage on an older Yorktown pump gets caught.
Weekly pool service in Yorktown keeps the subdivision pools clear through the July heat, and algae treatment around Mohegan Lake and Crompond is a weekly job after storms come over the Taconic. Each visit ends with a note.
Pool closing in Yorktown Heights runs late September through October. Jefferson Valley and the lots near FDR Park get a leaf cleanup before the cover goes on, and winterization blows out every line.
Off-season is for pump and heater upgrades, safety cover repairs, and liner quotes in Shrub Oak and Yorktown Heights so the work is done before opening day.
Bobby Bahama Pools has grown by word of mouth across the Hudson Valley for ten years, and we're collecting our first online reviews now. If you'd like to talk to a current customer near you, ask when you call and we'll make the introduction.

Late September to mid-October, once the water holds below 65 degrees. The heavily treed lots near FDR Park and toward the reservoirs go last so the cover isn't holding a season of leaves.
